Mary "Sissy" Smith, CPhT

Mary is a Certified Pharmacy Technician and has been a technician for 39 years.  She began her career with another pharmacy in 1978; then, in 1986, joined the staff at The Medicine Cabinet as a technician.  She married in 1977, and has 2 daughters and 6 grandchildren.  Sissy enjoys the beach, movies, spending time with the family, and working with the children’s ministry at church.

Leigh joined The Medicine Cabinet as a Certified Pharmacy Technician in 2010, after working with another pharmacy for seven years.  She has been a technician for 14 years.  Leigh has been married since 2005 and has a son. She enjoys relaxing at the lake, river and beach. Leigh also enjoys boating and spending time with family and friends.

Karen McDonald, CPhT

Karen McDonald, CPhT

Karen has been a Certified Pharmacy Technician for 30 years, since 1987 when she began her pharmacy career. The Medicine Cabinet welcomed her in 2014, as a technician.  She has 2 sons and a grandson.  Karen is involved in her church where she sings in the choir, is a Sunday School Teacher, and works with the Children’s Church.  She loves to cook, bake, and spend time with her friends and family.

Carrie is a Pharmacy Clerk and Registered Pharmacy Technician.  In 2016, she became part of The Medicine Cabinet Family.  She married in 2002, and has 2 daughters.  In addition to enjoying family time, Carrie is an avid animal lover and owns 4 dogs and many other animals.

Lauren has been a pharmacy clerk with The Medicine Cabinet since early 2017.  She is in her second year of college where she is studying pre-pharmacy.  Her plans are to continue her studies in pharmacy and get her Pharm D at the MUSC School of Pharmacy in Charleston. Lauren enjoys the beach, playing tennis, and spending time with family and friends.

Olivia joined The Medicine Cabinet staff in 2017, as a Pharmacy Clerk. She plans to continue her education and complete her Associate in Science Degree. Married in 2013, she and her husband have a daughter.  Together, they sell their farm-grown produce and host school tours on the family farm. In her spare time, Olivia enjoys horseback riding and traveling.

MEET THE MEDICINE CABINET FAMILY

Terry A. Blackmon, RPh, has built his pharmacy career on “The Golden Rule.”  As owner and pharmacist of an independent, small-town pharmacy, his goal is to offer his patients the best overall pharmacy care while maintaining both a professional and personal rapport. He understands that his employees play a vital role in operating a successful business and encourages a happy and safe work environment. Learn more about The Medicine Cabinet team below.

Erin Stelling, PharmD

Erin B. Stelling, PharmD, MBA, is passionate about improving the lives of her patients via her work in independent pharmacy.   Throughout her career, she has remained vigilant in seeking new opportunities that will positively impact today’s generation and generations to come.  Her goals include continuing to stay up to date regarding changes that affect pharmacy and her patients, as well as helping to pave a path for pharmacies to be reimbursed for providing enhanced services.

 

She currently serves as The Medicine Cabinet’s Director of Clinical Services where she assists with coordination of medication synchronization and provides all medication therapy management services. Additionally, she serves as a community pharmacy cardiovascular disease risk management coach and has extensive experience in diabetes coaching.

 

Erin, born and raised in South Carolina, has a Doctorate of Pharmacy from The Medical University of South Carolina, College of Pharmacy, and a Master’s of Business Administration from the Citadel, both located in Charleston.  After graduating in 2010, she began her career in chain retail pharmacies.  In 2017, Erin joined her dad, Terry A. Blackmon, RPh, as a pharmacist at The Medicine Cabinet of Lake City, South Carolina. 

 

Her professional affiliations include the South Carolina Pharmacy Association, the National Community Pharmacists Association, The Medical University of South Carolina Pharmacy Alumni Association, and the American Pharmacists Association. Erin currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Carolina Pharmacy Network and is a state luminary for the Community Pharmacy Enhanced Services Network.  Like her dad, Erin enjoys being involved in all areas of pharmacy including the legislative aspects.

 

She and her husband, Eddie, have been married since 2014, and reside in Lake City, South Carolina. They have two dogs, Buffet and Jake, whom they consider to be their furry children.

 

When Erin is not working or participating in meetings and continuing education, her favorite activity is traveling with Eddie. Erin also enjoys spending time at the beach or in Charleston, reading, dancing, and spending time with family and friends.  She enjoys meeting people in her new hometown while attending church and community activities.

Terry Blackmon currently serves as Chairman of the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy and is a Past President of the South Carolina Pharmacy Association.  He is involved in pharmacy on the local, state, and national levels and takes a special interest in the legislative aspects of pharmacy.  He has worked tirelessly to insure the success of independent pharmacy today and in the future and also to provide the best in patient care. He is a goal-driven, fiscally conscious, high-energy businessman and pharmacist who meets a challenge with creative problem-solving techniques and tenacity.  He has a passion to mentor and encourage young pharmacists and supports student programs and employs pharmacy interns.

Terry Blackmon is also a member of the National Community Pharmacists Association, the American Pharmacists Association, a state luminary for the Community Pharmacy Enhanced Services Network, and a member and past president of the Medical University of South Carolina Pharmacy Alumni Association.

 

His impact on the pharmacy community has resulted in numerous accolades.  In 2017, he was the honored recipient of the Bowl of Hygeia for the state of South Carolina, the most widely recognized international symbol for the pharmacy profession and one of the profession's most prestigious awards.  In 2015, Terry was named Pharmacist of the Year by the South Carolina Pharmacy Association.

 

Terry Blackmon has traveled his career path for nearly forty years.  He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy from the Medical University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy in Charleston, South Carolina before entering the workforce.  Terry is the president/owner and pharmacist-in-charge of The Medicine Cabinet of Lake City.

 

A native of South Carolina, he and his wife, Cynthia, have been married since 1980 and live in New Zion, South Carolina.  They have a daughter, Erin B. Stelling, PharmD, MBA, who has followed in her father’s footsteps as a pharmacist and recently joined him at The Medicine Cabinet.  However, his life is not all pharmacy.  In his spare time, Terry enjoys fishing and the outdoors, church, civic and community activities, classic muscle car restoration, family time, travel, and the beach.
